So many of us let life happen to us; reacting to what’s in front of us, being dictated to by our "shoulds" and generally just doing what’s expected of us. Sometimes we find a way to achieve "success," or at least what everyone else tells us is success. And yet we wonder...is this really all that life has to offer?

Feeling disillusioned, dissatisfied, discontent and disconnected are signs that you're surviving instead of thriving. We all have periods of feeling these things but when they become the main emotions you feel, it's time to act so that you can start to THRIVE. I can show you how.

To me thriving means balance. Being able to spend each day doing what you love. Feeling confident and comfortable in your own skin. Being assertive and able to communicate your needs without hurting those around you. Practising self-care and self-love every day. Reading. Creating. Travelling. Spending time in nature. Being around those you love. Giving back.
Thriving starts when you do more of the things you want to do and less of the things you should. That isn't to say you don't still have responsibilities, of course you do. You still experience the ups and downs of life, the difference is that when you're thriving you face it, process and understand your emotions, and use your problem-solving skills and self-belief to find a way forwards.
To me it means creativity, collaboration, and high performance. It means active and intelligent risk tasking. Supportive and empowering leaders. Genuine desire to do the right things and do those things well. Positive impact. Happy people. Psychological safety. Trust. Reward and healthy competition. The ability to overcome change effectively through efficient communication of a clearly defined why.
We all have a responsibility in nourishing our workplace so that everyone within it can thrive. As an employee and team member it's your job to find fulfilling work so you can show up as the best version of yourself. As a leader it's your responsibility to create psychological safety and empower your people to step into their roles with confidence. And as an employer you need to provide the right environment and skill development for your teams to achieve the strategic goals you set them.
